“Contemporary Vision of “Kitchen” by Banana Yoshimoto”, 2021, Adobe Photoshop + Adobe InDesign
This project was a typographical challenge to redesign a book cover utilizing our learned typographical skills and envision a new brand concept for an existing product. The vision and feel of the redesign was aimed towards encompassing the overall theme and tone of the story, which reflects upon a narrative of grief and change stirring up an otherwise mundane life for the main character. A contemporary direction was taken for this design, the choice in typeface alludes to a more modern feeling that could attract the current audience.
